Cary Grant, born Archibald Alec Leach on January 18, 1904, was an English-American actor known for his debonair demeanor and distinctive Mid-Atlantic accent. Once asked by an interviewer, "Everybody would like to be Cary Grant," Grant is said to have replied, "So would I."
From Bristol to Hollywood
Born in Horfield, Bristol, England, Grant began his acting career on the stage. He later moved to the United States and adopted the stage name Cary Grant in 1932. Throughout his career, he starred in over 70 films, becoming one of the most popular leading men in classic Hollywood.
