Chelsea's clash with Crystal Palace will not be broadcast live on TV in the UK, with Sky Sports explaining their decision

The match is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom

The Premier League contest at Selhurst Park kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, October 1, 2022, but it will not be shown live on Sky Sports.

That's because Sky Sports have opted to broadcast Aston Villa vs Manchester City instead, with the match at Villa Park getting underway at 5.30pm.

The decision has left many Chelsea fans disappointed, as they will not be able to watch their team in action on TV.

A statement from Sky Sports read: "We understand that Chelsea fans will be disappointed that the match against Crystal Palace will not be shown live on Sky Sports.

"However, we have to make decisions on which matches to broadcast based on a number of factors, including the attractiveness of the fixture, the availability of other matches, and the scheduling of other events.

"We believe that the match between Aston Villa and Manchester City is a more attractive fixture for our viewers, and we hope that Chelsea fans will understand our decision."

Chelsea fans can still watch the match live on Amazon Prime Video, with coverage starting from 2.30pm.

The match is also available to listen to live on BBC Radio 5 Live.
